This time in Finglish, in honor of the almighty Easter Bunny!

Lady Gaga @ Lauluväljak, Tallinn, Estonia 25.8.2012

Not your average Easter egg, this one. The gig was a part of Gaga's Born This Way Ball tour, which also stopped in Finland but because of the traditionally high ticket prices we opted for our much more affordable neighbour country Estonia instead. It was not my first big pop show, but it was definitely the biggest and the weirdest one. I can still clearly remember the intro of the show and how she rode onto the stage on a very realistic fake horse looking like an alien-skeleton-ringwraith. The show consisted of 24 songs and she changed costume constantly, it was quite a challenge to keep up with everything that was happening on stage.
I think that the crowd was pretty gobsmacked by what they saw, because huge stars have only started to visit Estonia quite recently compared to other European countries. I suspect that it was also a big day for the Estonian LGBT community and Gaga was strongly encouraging people to let their rainbow flags fly freely. I'm happy I got to see her at this particular point of her career when she still had a lot of The Fame/The Fame Monster songs in the setlist, because those albums and that era are my favorites.

Venom @ FortaRock, Nijmegen, Netherlands 6.6.2015

Multa kysyttiin päivän varoitusajalla haluaisinko lähteä mukaan FortaRockiin. Kerta kyydistä ja sisäänpääsystä ei tarvinnut maksaa mitään ja toisen vaihtoehdon ollessa pakkopullaturistipäivä lentoa odotellessa Bremenissä. niin eipä juurikaan tarvinnut miettiä kahdesti. 

Venom oli mulle tätä ennen lähinnä ns. bändipaitabändi, eli logoa on tullut bongattua milloin missäkin kankaanpalassa, joten pitihän sitä mennä katsomaan. Taltioin astetta hienomman pyrokuvan, mutta toi kulman lentävä tuoppi kiteyttää sen tän setin aikana huokuneen ätmöksen, joten täl mennään! Muhun teki vaikutuksen eturiviin tiensä -sanan täydessä merkityksessä- jyrännyt rässiliiviäijä. Selkeästkin oli muulle sokea paitsi Venomille ja silloin ei koiteta kierrellä kohteliaasti. Lainasin kirjastosta Welcome To Hell -levyn tän keikan tuotoksena ja saatoin keikan aikana liittyä pitkästä aikaa hevimerkkiä heiluttavien sekavaan joukkoon. Tykkäsin! -kilu

Strike Anywhere @ Gasometer, Wien, Austria 5.2.2009

Strike Anywhere - and automatically the first couple of lines of Prisoner Echoes's chorus start ringing in my head. The band is currently cooking up some euro-action happening late July early August. This shot is from when Strike Anywhere supported Rise Against back in Feb 2009 and I was lucky enough to catch them five times in five days on that tour. Wien was the first on that whole European run and I remember a Labrador retriever making a short visit on the stage before the whole show started haha. Strike Anywhere is a fun band to see live thanks to the energy they bring and the amount of great songs they are able to put their setlist together from - it's hard to be disappointed really. Hope to catch them again some fine day!

HIM @ Õllesummer festival, Tallinn, Estonia 15.7.2010

If I'm not completely mistaken, this was HIM's first ever gig in Estonia which is quite strange because Estonia is right next to Finland. Well anyway, it's one of the best or maybe even the best festival gig I've ever seen by them, and I've seen a few. It was a part of the Screamworks: Love In Theory And Practice tour and the set included lots of songs from the album, of course. It's one of my favorite HIM records even if it never took off very well compared to their other albums.
This picture is an example of pure luck I sometimes have while photographing in concerts. I've done nothing but resize it, otherwise it's completely au naturel, colors, shadows and all. I wish I had these kind of accidental quality magic moments more often, heh.
